The project is called NINO NEGRI 3000, A TASTE OF ALTITUDE and aims to test the positive effects of altitude on our mountain wines.
The high altitude slows down the ageing process due to the reduced amount of oxygen and the cooler temperatures.
We selected 2,600 magnum bottles of 2016 and took them to the summit to age until 2026.
1,300 magnums of Vigna Fracia 2016 were taken to Bormio, Heaven 3000 where one of Nino Negri's high-altitude ageing cellars is located. They will remain here until the 2026 Olympics.
